Hostinger speed and uptime test: independent results measured on live websites.

Quick answer: how fast and reliable is Hostinger in 2026?

Hostinger's uptime is excellent and its speed is solid for the price. A 365-day independent study recorded 99.9937% uptime and an average US server response (TTFB) of 483 ms, with 0% errors under a 100-user load test (Tech Help Canada). A shorter 30-day WordPress test with caching recorded 183 ms TTFB and 99.93% uptime (WPSchool).

In short: Hostinger beats its own 99.9% guarantee and is fast enough for blogs, business sites and small stores, but premium managed hosts respond faster at the server level.

    Where these results come from

We have not yet finished monitoring our own Hostinger site, so we do not publish our own numbers here. Instead, on October 20, 2026 we collected results from independent testers who monitored live Hostinger websites and published their methods. We name every source and show where they disagree.

Why the gap in TTFB? Tests use different locations, plans, caching settings and page types. A cached WordPress page close to the data center responds much faster than an uncached request from another region. Treat the range, not a single number, as the realistic expectation.

What TTFB, uptime and load tests mean

    • TTFB (time to first byte): how long the server takes to start replying. Lower is better; under about 500 ms is acceptable for shared hosting.
    • Uptime: the share of time your site is reachable. 99.99% is roughly 4 minutes of downtime per month; 99.9% is roughly 43 minutes.
    • Load test: how the server responds when many visitors arrive at once. Low errors matter more than raw speed.

    Hostinger's 99.9% uptime guarantee

Hostinger publicly commits to 99.9% uptime and runs a public status page listing incidents (Hostinger technology page). The independent results above came in above that guarantee. A guarantee is a minimum promise, not a measurement, so independent monitoring is the better evidence.

    The technology behind the numbers

According to Hostinger, its platform uses NVMe storage, LiteSpeed web servers, an in-house CDN, global data centers, an in-house firewall and DDoS protection. ComparEdge notes that the CDN improves perceived page speed more than it lowers origin server response, and that shared and cloud plans do not auto-scale (ComparEdge).

We are monitoring our own Hostinger website and will add our measured uptime, TTFB and PageSpeed results here once we have enough data to be meaningful. Until then, every figure on this page comes from the named independent sources.

How to make a Hostinger site faster

    1. Choose the data center closest to your visitors.
    2. Turn on caching and the built-in CDN.
    3. Compress images; see our image optimization guide.
    4. Remove heavy plugins; see plugins that slow your site.
    5. Upgrade to Cloud when traffic outgrows shared resources.

    Frequently asked questions

    What is Hostinger's uptime?

Hostinger guarantees 99.9% uptime. An independent 365-day monitoring study published by Tech Help Canada recorded 99.9937% uptime for Hostinger, and WPSchool recorded 99.93% over 30 days.

    How fast is Hostinger?

Independent tests disagree because of location and setup. Tech Help Canada measured an average US time to first byte of 483 ms over a year, while WPSchool measured 183 ms over 30 days on WordPress sites with caching.

    Does Hostinger use LiteSpeed?

Yes. Hostinger states that it uses NVMe storage and LiteSpeed servers, along with its own CDN and global data centers.

    Is 99.9% uptime good?

99.9% allows up to about 43 minutes of downtime per month. It is a common industry standard; the independent results above came in higher than the guarantee.

    Can Hostinger handle traffic spikes?

In Tech Help Canada's 100-user load test Hostinger responded in 245 ms with 0% errors. Shared and cloud plans do not auto-scale, so very large spikes need a plan upgrade.
